Re: Sugoicon
I think Sara might like the "She is the one! Sailor Moon" Panel. I don't know if I will go, but the "Manly Screaming Mecha Pilot" panel sounds hilarious. Not to mention manly.

Re: Sugoicon
CLAMP and Ghibli might be interesting. CLAMP did Chobits, Tsubasa, xxxHoLiC, Carcaptor Sakura, etc. (That was Chii in that Tsubasa episode by the way). Ghibli is the studio that did Spirited Away, Howls Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, etc.

Vendors room map is now up.
http://www.sugoicon.org/current/images/location/dealer-2010-final.pdf
I repeat, the room is nearly doubled from previous years! (taking up the area that was the large movie theatre). Looks like a good turnout this year.

Re: Sugoicon
Google yields little results that are likely answers. My guess is that it may be the mecha model kit place. Happy Japan sounds cool, like it will carry other items besides anime stuff that is japan related. That cosplay shop sounds neat, wonder if they have anime specific accessories like an auto-mail arm.

Re: Sugoicon
Final Planning time! The con is in a week, woot! I work till 4 tomorrow since they're sealing the tile at the new building, then I'm off for the weekend for the wedding (Yay!), then I work till wednesday and I'm off till monday for the con (Yay again!).
So, Final Pricing:
-Jake is $80 for room, he paid the registration.
-Nick is $110 for room and registration.
-Chris is $54 for room since hes coming a day late, I'm covering the first night myself. I did not purchase his registration since I wasn't sure if he got it himself. I hope he did, 'cause that line is awful!
Gas total is expected to be $80-100, so we can split it whichever way, I'll cover half of it myself since I assume most of the places we go will be my crazy ideas.
Also, Jake and I are bringing laptops so we can DDO, etc on the included internet access. I've also asked for a Microwave and Mini-fridge, though I don't know if we officially have one yet. I also have a 48-pack size collapsable cooler. For sleeping arrangements, we have 2 beds, so we can decide on something when we get there.
Jake, what time are you thinking on heading up there from Corbin that thursday? I think the asian food stores, Hibari Market in Lexington and Matsuya's outside Ft. Mitchell, close at 5 or 6 pm. Also, what time will you be coming to the hotel, Nick? Annnd, any word on if Austin will be attending?
I know we're going to Jungle Jims, probably friday? Are there any other destination plans/suggestions? Also, did you and Sara get your registration cards yet Jon?

Re: Sugoicon
Indeed. They took their sweet time sending the pre-registration cards, but I got them in the mail today, so we're good to go. Very much worth the hour or two of frustration and standing in line of yesteryears. The new library also got internet today, so I can finish up the reamining 9 computers that require reformatting and installing. Hope the new 11 mbs speed rocks those windows updates. Monday we reopen, so I'll get to be back in time for it, yay.

Re: Sugoicon
Yeah. Apparently I have to reformat and reinstall 12 computers tomorrow(windows update, MS office, various security programs), hook up the existing printers and servers, add 5 wi-fi access points, install 4 new printers and then install the software for said printers on a different set of 12 computers, pick out 4 new LCD screens to order, and make a list of needed supplies such as surge protectors and 3ft or 7ft ethernet cables since they decided to run female plugs instead of male ones. If its not done, then screw it. It wouldn't be an issue to do in 8 hours if windows updates didn't take up 3+ hours of that time, or if we had more windows XP/MS office/drivers discs than two or three each.
I would have liked to have finished some of it today, but I had to start all over twice because my assistant boss was on a power trip because the main boss had to run an arrand and had me go run copies at time sensitive points. Can I join in on the head into wall banging?
----------------end rant-----------------------
By the way, registration is 12 pm-11pm Friday. Should be a pretty much in and out deal, though they said its the highest amount of people they've ever had pre-reg. Also, the cafe we had breakfast in is gone, but there is a complementary breakfast:
Monday through Friday
6:00AM to 10:00AM
Saturday, Sunday and Holidays:
7:00AM to 11:00AM
Also, the internets. There is free high speed in the rooms and wi-fi in public areas. I'm wondering if we need a WAP or a router or some such thing to get all three of us on at once.

I do like free complimentary breakfast. Because it's breakfast... And free. Both are very good things.
