Next Year's Anime Convention

Cool, then I'll get yours too since it'll be cheaper now rather than later.

Also, this sounds fun, if not really chaotic:

L.A.G. (Live Action Gaming / Larp)
The return of one of the biggest events in convention history! L.A.G. Will be returning for the first time since CCC 2008 with help from the RBG!!

The convention will be filled with other players that you battle (pvp) and/or band together with others to complete quests. There is always a rolling story that accompanies the entire event from start to finish. Join up with events and other groups of people to complete Raid type scenarios against bosses or other factions.

Battle wisely and gain EXP, Health and money by pvp or completing quests. Purchase skills that will help you rise to the top of the leader boards.
It is pretty much like playing a MMO but for real instead of sitting at a computer!
This event will take place convention wide and will take place early Friday and Sunday!

Story for LAG 2011 is "A Pirates Life." So prepare to swashbuckle!

I have talked to Chris, and from what I can understand, he has already ordered his but has not printed it out yet. Neither have me or Sara though.

Awesome. I don't even know what Pizza Town is or where you saw that, but I'd attempt to punch Chuck Norris in the face and cause the universe to shatter into cheddar cheese. Then he'd probably punch Jessica Alba in the face.

and then clint eastwood would come out from uner norris's bed and blow his brains out... and no i didn't come up with that... i read it on the internet so it must be true.

Got this in my e-mail today:

"Hello everyone! I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming outpour of pre-registration for our 2011 show. We could have never expected our pre-registration to increase over 1/4 from 2010.
If you would like to bring friends with you to A&G that have not pre-registered, do not worry! There will still be at door sales (or until firecode/capacity restricts it)

The plan for 2011 is have pre-registration members to pick up their badges from con ops (or right outside of ops) starting at 5pm Thursday (until 9pm). Registration as well as Pre-Reg pick up will resume at Noon Friday and will continue after 9pm inside convention ops.

You will need A. State ID or B. Printed E-Ticket in order to pick up badges."

So looks like 5-9 on Thursday we can get our badges early .

soooooo.... it appears since my former father, the thief, stole my moms car i will be without a car... meaning... i can get a ride to corbin thursday evening... if thats good enough. if not than i guess i'm out.

Oh my gosh! that L.A.G sounds AWESOME! We have got to do that people. We will form a party and stick together and thusly have a better chance of surviving. Not sure the limit of the parties size, I imagine either 3 or 4 since their seems to be a lot of references to Final Fantasy. We'll figure it out soon though. Might come down to making 2 parties of 3 or 4. I think there are 7 of us right?

so you use weapons in this l.a.g? weapons that cost horrible amounts?

Have you read the rules yet? It's not like a tournament thing, the entire con area is the adventure area, and there is staff to give you quests and shops to buy items, skills, and stuff with the "gil" you gain from battles. You can challenge other parties to battles, then you have to go to a specified battle area. I'm not completely sure how it works, but I am thinking you just bring whatever you want to use as a weapon (May or may not be able to bring real ones), and they just act as cosmetic. Should be able to say your fists are your weapons. You don't make contact. It is a turn-based RPG system with everyone having HP and damage based on their level. You can acquire skills and magic through the shops and quests. Player stats are recorded through the cons computers so when players go to fight, no one can exagerate their stats.

Basically, you get stamped on the hand or banded on the wrist, and that has to be visible at all times. This way, other players can challenge you, and staff can challenge you with "random encounters". Quests also have bosses and mini-bosses, so the entire event is like a live-action Role Playing Game.
